The Voronet Monastery is nicknamed the “Sistine Chapel of the East” and is located 4 kilometers from Gura Humorului. The monastery church was founded by the voivode Stefan the Great and Saint and was built in 1455 in just 3 months and 3 weeks. We will have the joy of visiting one of the clay workshops in Marginea, the only place in Romania and even in Europe where black ceramics are produced. The technique by which the black ceramic is obtained is a secret of the artisans in the area, and we have the opportunity to see them at work in one of the workshops that are still operating today, respecting the manual work technique.
